God has made us different,
he made us so unique.

The snake is an animal.
It has a backbone and a heart.
It has red blood.
It drinks water and eats food.
It breathes air and feels fear
just like every other
animal in the world.
And, it's in a body that's
the hardest thing
for the average
person to understand.

Common Water Snake - Genus: Nerodia
Non-Venomous

Common Water Snakes include many different species of harmless, non-venomous water snakes. Three of these Common Water Snakes are the Northern Water Snake, Midland Water Snake and Banded Water Snake. Due to their thick body and head that can often appear triangular in shape, these harmless snakes are very often mistaken for cottonmouths or copperheads. Since they’re non-venomous, their mouths are absent of fangs. However, they do possess large teeth that enable them to easily grasp their primary prey of fish and amphibians. Common Water Snakes are a protected species. This means that it’s illegal to harm them and possessing one is prohibited.
