All Snake Killers Click Here
God has made us different, he made us so unique. We slither on the ground, we have no hands and feet. Though you find us scary, or maybe just plain weird, our intentions are not to hurt you or cause you such great fear. Our venom's not meant for humans but to help us when we eat. So, please stop the senseless killing before we're all extinct. We're not saying you have to love us or tell us we're the best. God's the one who created us. So, treat us with respect.

Fears are educated into us and can, if we wish, be educated out. -Karl A. Merringer
A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal... Proverbs 12:10
The snake is an animal. It has a backbone and a heart. It has red blood. It drinks water and eats food. It breathes air and feels fear just like every other animal in the world. And, it's in a body that's the hardest thing for the average person to understand. (author-unknown)

- Seek emergency veterinary care as soon as possible.
- Remove collars or harnesses to prevent complications in case of swelling.
- Keep the dog as still and calm as possible.
- If possible and safe to do so, take a photo of the snake. (This may be helpful but is not necessary)
Do Not apply a tourniquet or pressure bandage.
Do Not use an ice pack.
Do Not cut and/or suck the wound.
Do Not use extraction devices or other similar "snake bite kits" commonly sold at sporting goods stores.
Do Not use Benadryl other than for allergic reactions. Benadryl is of NO benefit for a snake bite. This is true for both people and pets. Benadryl may be useful in treating dogs that are stung by bees, wasps etc. However histamines that cause swelling are not released in the event of a snake bite. Swelling that results after a venomous snake bite is due to tissue damge from toxins in the snake venom. (Click here to read more about Benadryl and snake bites.)
For more detailed information that you can also share with your veterinarian in the event of an envenomation, download the pdf's below.
If you haven't done so, consider enrolling your dog in our Snake School. This will help insure your dog doesn't want to further investigate a snake it may encounter in the future.
